Reading, Vancouver, July 11

Join poets Kate Braid, Al Rempel, Daniela Elza, & musician Clyde Reed (on bass) Sunday, July 11, 7:00pm @ Café Montmarte (4362 Main St.). Guest poet Al Rempel will be launching Understories, (Caitlin Press, 2010).  Kate will be reading from her last three books, including Inward to the Bones: Georgia O’Keeffe’s Journey with Emily Carr, which has just been reprinted by Caitlin Press. Books will be available for sale and signing by the authors. The event is free.

The PORTAL 2010 launch will be held in the Royal Arbutus Room at VIUs Nanaimo campus, 2-5 p.m. Special guest poet Kate Braid, sponsored by the Canada Council for the Arts, will read from her new work.

North Vancouver reading - December 9, 2009

Words and Music at Presentation House, 333 Chesterfield Avenue (3 blocks up from Lonsdale Quay), 8:30 p.m..  Kate will read with Clyde Reed, jazz bassist.  Second set will include Clyde, guitarist Jared Burrows and spoken word performers Viviane House and Carol Sawyer.  An $8 donation is requested at the door to cover rent and payment to performers.  All welcome.

Nanaimo reading - November 26, 2009

WordStorm Reading Series.  At Nanaimo Centre Stage, 25 Victoria Street, Nanaimo, BC.  Doors open at 6:30, readings start at 7 with open mic competition and ”lightning readers.”  Kate will be reading with Allannah Dow playing cello.
